Inafune revelou no seu blog que ainda quer fazer jogos, sejam eles para as consoles ou portáteis, ou até mesmo jogos sociais ou online. Ele acredita agora que o componente social e online não podem ser esquecidos nos jogos actuais.
Filmes, livros ou mangás são outras áreas em que Inafune gostaria de trabalhar.
Ele também disse que quer passar seus limites, mesmo sendo criador de ótimas séries que ainda, depois de 20 anos, fazem sucesso.
